The classic TV property, “Brady Bunch,” is on sale five years after HGTV bought the house and reconstructed it with vintage authenticity.
The series “Brady Bunch” was created by the late producer Sherwood Schwartz, initially released on 26 September 1969 on ABC, and ran for 117 episodes till 1974 A.D. But, it has created numerous spinoffs, specials, and movies.
The cast members of the series were the late Robert Reed and Florence Henderson as parents Carol Brady and Mike —Marica, Jan, and Cindy as Carol’s daughters—- Greg, Peter, and Bobby as Mike’s sons—the late Ann B. Davis as the servant Alice.
Upon purchasing it, HGTV completely renovated the midcentury-built dwelling, redesigning both the interior and the exterior of the property that’s featured on the hit television program, which has been broadcast for several years.
The channel, which is operated by Warner Bros. Discovery, greatly enhanced the property and created an extra story to it.
The 2nd story is an identical replica of what appeared on the show, featuring the living room and bedrooms, since the scenes in those areas were filmed at Paramount Studios in Los Angeles.
As per the dailymail.co.uk, HGTV featured the renovation of the dwelling on its 2019 highlight A Very Brady Renovation, which earned excellent ratings and approximately 28 million audience members over four weeks.
Per The Hollywood Reporter, the TV network invested $1.9 million on reconstruction, repairing the property’s signature floating staircase and classic kitchen, and expanding the 2,000 square feet of the building.
The dwelling, which is situated at 11222 Dilling Street, has been showcased in specials and on the reality show Trixie Motel on Discovery+.
With a portion of the profits from the sale, HGTV will be donating to Turn Up: Fight Hunger, its joint effort with the nonprofit group No Kid Hungry, which seeks to tackle child hunger in the United States.
As per the THR, HGTV paid $3.5 million for a California abode when it was on bid on the Studio City, which was twice the original asking price.
Now, considering the highly-priced Los Angeles housing market and the comprehensive renovations to the house, it’s going to cost quite a bit more to the next purchaser.
The price of the five-bedroom, five-bathroom Los Angeles suburbs home being sought is $5.5 million.
Depending on the listing, “the possibilities are endless” for a lucky purchaser — who will be offered to mount the famed staircase, linger out in the cool attic, prepare on the vibrant orange Formica kitchen counters, and rest in pink twin-sized beds.
The offer also has curated furnishings and decorations.
The network also released a statement that read, “As part of the massive renovation, HGTV invested $1.9 million and added 2,000 square feet to the property’s original footprint, including a full second story.”
Likewise, the listing agent, Danny Brown, shared that the property was “meticulously” reconstructed and designed to replicate the show’s Mid-century Modern set.
